Who does what?
Reception Desk
Answer questions via telephone and e-mail.
Gather necessary information and documentation for appointments and provide assistance to students seeking information.
Schedule appointments with counsellors, learning strategists or assistive technologists.

Counsellors
Meet with students to discuss accessibility, academic, career and personal issues.
Gather required documentation to support students with disabilities and work with students to develop appropriate accommodations.
Assist with the coordination of support services to promote a successful and positive environment.

Learning Strategist
Work with students to discuss their academic goals and develop individual learning strategies and plans to achieve these goals.
Provide one-on-one learning support to students who may require assistance with organization, time management, study and note taking skills, and strategies for adapting to studying online.

Assistive Technologist
Work with students and counsellors to recommend and/or provide students with assistive technology and equipment as appropriate for the students’ accommodations.
Provide one-on-one assistive technology support and training.
Provide textbooks in alternate formats.
Access to the assistive technologist is by referral from an accessibility services counsellor only.

Testing Services
Students with an accommodation plan may be eligible for accommodations, such as extended time and use of assistive technology to take tests or exams.

Student Success Officer
Assists with all St. Clair College related questions, whatever they may be.
Assists with the coordination of support services to foster independence and success.

Tutoring Services
Peer tutors provide free one-on-one and small group tutoring in a variety of disciplines (based on availability and student/tutor schedules).
Peer tutors can provide assistance with writing and APA format.
Retention coordinators provide additional assistance with math, APA and writing.
In light of COVID-19, tutoring is currently being offered in an online format only.
