Annual tuition fees in the above programs include accommodations at La Residence for the first semester of study. Located at 335 King St. W in Chatham, Ontario the residence provides safe and welcoming accommodations for student arrival, while allowing students to properly budget and afford their first semester of living expenses. All international students confirming their seat of acceptance in the programs noted above may reside in this residence for their first semester of study.  During their stay at La Residence, students can make long-term accommodation plans once they have settled in our community. La Residence accommodation fees are non-refundable unless due to a visa denial.

All cooking devices must have an automatic shutoff, be approved by CSA, and must not have an open element (for example stove, hot plates, deep fryer and indoor grills are not permitted). All appliances will be checked for approval by a Residence staff member. Toaster ovens, slow cookers, rice cookers, and toasters are great examples of what you can bring. If you have any questions as to what is safe and approved, just ask!

All students in bundled programs who upload a valid visa document and are marked as "Pre-Registered" in OCAS will be automatically confirmed for accommodations at La Residence.

You will receive communication from St. Clair College and La Residence close to the start of your semester.

Students are responsible for keeping their own rooms clean, including bathrooms and kitchen areas. The residence housekeeping staff clean the lounges and common areas of the building.  Maintenance staff will enter suites only to make repairs.

The Residence staff is committed to providing students with a sense of safety and security while living in residence. Students can also help maintain this atmosphere by reporting any unusual circumstances within the residence to a Residence Staff member. The residence building is equipped with video surveillance in all stairwells, hallways, lobby areas, and entrances. Students should be ready to show ID at the request of residence staff members. Tampering with surveillance equipment will not be tolerated and appropriate disciplinary action may result.

Entry without notice may take place where the health and safety of a student, guest or staff is concerned. Otherwise, we will attempt to provide 24 hours' notice before entering the suite.

The front desk will accept mail and courier packages. Please be sure to have the student's legal name on the mail/package or it will be returned to the sender. Please indicate room/unit number.

Yes, you can order online groceries or food.

Yes, parking is included in residence fees. On-Campus parking is available at an additional cost. 

Please go down to the Residence Office and fill out a maintenance work order. Maintenance staff will come to your room and fix the problem as soon as possible. All requests are prioritized, and you will receive a notification upon completion of your request.

You can reach out to the Property Manager at 548-886-8121. Maintenance and cleaning staff of the building are also available to assist with questions and assistance where necessary.

The Property Manager will make changes in room assignments where available whenever they believe changes are necessary. 

La Residence guest policies will be explained in the orientation. Guest policies are subject to change at any time in the interest of student safety.

Generally, move-in dates are the weekend prior to the first day of school (2-3 days before). 

Please ensure you bring 2 passport-size photographs and Letter of Acceptance from the College immediately upon arrival.

The Residence staff is generally in the building 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday. The Property Manager is available for emergencies at 548-886-8121.  Emergencies constitute fire, flood or personal injury.
