In this course students examine the anatomy of numerous criminal offences against the person property and/or public order. Students review various factual scenarios and locate applicable statutory and case law using the Criminal Code to identify the correct criminal offence. If a factual scenario discloses numerous offences students will identify all offences relating to that scenario. Students use principles of logical analysis and critical thinking to formulate offence elements for the offences they have chosen. They identify and discuss facts in issue and combine these with applicable legal principles to argue or defend their decisions.
