Medical Transcription I

This course introduces students to medical keyboarding, speed development and typing theory with applications in medical letters, hospital and clinical reports. The students will be introduced to medical keyboarding techniques in the following areas: punctuation, capitalization, number usage, abbreviations. Students will be introduced to medical machine transcription of a variety of typical medical reports. Emphasis will be placed on spelling, punctuation, formatting, proofreading and accuracy. Students will be introduced to resume writing and job search procedures.
