This course introduces students to the concepts and principles employed in the creation of advertising campaigns, relative to the career of a graphic designer. Topics include the creative process, understanding and writing a creative brief, and an exploration of strategies typically used to generate solutions for the appropriate audience. Students will analyze and discuss examples of impactful persuasive writing as they develop their own skill sets in the development of content for a variety of topics. Emphasis will be placed on print campaigns for this introductory course, strategic problem solving, and exploring mood and intent in relation to specific demographic groups and target markets.
