This course provides students with an introduction to the history, theory, technology, and uses of social media and how social media has changed marketing and advertising. Students will learn detailed strategies on how to embrace evolving platforms and drive purchase decisions through the strategic use of social media, how to integrate tools and tactics into goal-oriented campaigns that enhance brands and motivate desired behaviors, as well as how to use social media to conduct research, increase communication effectiveness and efficiency, develop strategies for integrating, evaluating and planning social media use(s) to achieve positive results. There is an emphasis on hands-on experience through analysis of, various digital and social media platforms and tools for developing professional profiles, creating professional content, engaging and collaborating.
