Course content examines the world of older adults through the lens of diversity. Factors such as ethnicity, race, culture, disability, gender, sexual orientation, rural/urban location and social class are explored for their impact and influence on the lives of older adults. Emphasis is placed on self-awareness and understanding how issues of diversity affect both the social service worker and the service recipient.
