Sport And The Law

Legal principles are used by sport managers every day. Students will examine the law in the context of the sport setting. Topics include negligence, violence in sport, doping, discrimination, gender equity and the administration of sport justice. Management issues regarding working relationships, intellectual property and contracts are studied. Best practices of risk management and alternative dispute resolution are emphasized as a way of protecting the organization and avoiding lawsuits.
