This course builds on the foundation and concepts introduced in the first Abdominal scanning course. Students will further develop their ability to differentiate sonographic appearance of normal structures from pathological conditions. The students will have the opportunity to practice formulation of technical impression, documentation and reporting of findings. Critical thinking skills are developed through patient assessment and the correlation of sonographic findings with clinical history and alternate imaging modalities. Theory will be integrated with the mandatory laboratory experience.
