This course will present a comprehensive introduction and overview of medical terminology including terms and abbreviations particularly necessary in the practice of Respiratory Therapy. Focus will be on component parts, and common prefixes of medical terms, diagnostics and procedural suffixes, as well as relevant terminology related to body systems and functions. Medical terminology used to identify medical and allied health specialties will be discussed.
