This course is the second of two courses addressing the study of anatomy and physiology. Students will examine the structure and function of the central nervous system and a number of sensory organs important to the practice of the Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) and Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA). Students will explore the concept of pain and pain measurement as it pertains to the role of the OTA & PTA. Students will identify multiple surface anatomy points important to the practice of the OTA and PTA. Finally, consistent with the role of the OTA and PTA, students will outline the structure and function of a number of body systems including the digestive, excretory, endocrine, integumentary, autoimmune, cardiovascular, respiratory, and reproductive systems.
