Introduction to Indigenous Studies

This is a survey course of the traditions cultures histories and contemporary issues of the Indigenous people across Turtle Island. Topics include European intrusion colonial administration and policies treaties the Indian Act residential schools self-determination and social justice. Students will make application of these topics in their professional role as a future Native Community Worker.
