This course provides the practical and academic skills, involving whole numbers, that the adult learner will need both in future mathematics classes and future employment. The course topics are self paced in a math lab and supported by twice weekly lectures/workshops. A diagnostic pretest determines what whole number's topics the adult learner doesn't understand. Topics include: place value; adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers; rounding and estimating whole number calculations; perimeter, area and volume calculations; expressions involving order of operations; calculations of mean, average and median; factors of numbers, prime factors, greatest common factor and least common multiple.
