This course will provide students with an ethical overview of mental health and illness. Historical individuals and the methods that guided or championed changes in ethos and treatment are examined. Present-day psychological disorders and the diagnosis and assessment process are also studied. Students explore the legal issues relevant to mental illness and abnormal behaviour and the stigma still associated with many diagnoses. The future awaits.
