Working in conjunction with the Garment Construction 1 course, students will learn the hands-on skills required to create clothing patterns for constructing skirts and pants. Emphasis throughout the course will be placed on current industry practices and upon standardizing and achieving a proper fit. Students will create their own skirt and pant designs for which they will draft the patterns and make fit adjustments. Each student will begin to create their own library of basic fit blocks that will be utilized throughout the course and can become part of their own collection of patterns afterwards. At completion of the course, students will be able to complete and fit their, own patterns for a variety of different skirt and pant styles.
