This course introduces the student to the concepts of ambulatory Holter ECG monitoring which is fundamental to the role of the cardiovascular technologist. Students will learn indications for Holter monitoring and the various conduction disturbances, principles of operating scanners/recorders, diary maintenance, interpretation of findings, assessment of ischemia, effects of medications and preparing a report. There is a mandatory lab component as part of this course.
