This course will introduce the student to the scope of practice and professional standards associated with the role of cardiovascular technologist. Students will be presented with expectations of the profession including legal and ethical compliance, professional behavior and communication techniques as it relates to the provision of quality patient care. The student will reflect upon the diversity of cultural beliefs, values and practices that impact health and illness. Students will also be introduced to the National Occupational Competency Profile and entry to practice competencies that are required of the Cardiology Technologist.
