An examination of a systematic and recursive process for composing essays and writing research papers. Students will learn patterns of organization for a variety of writing activities. Develop methods for conducting field research, library and Internet research and for evaluating and documenting information sources. Apply critical thinking skills to the analysis and evaluation of arguments; construct and provide convincing support for arguments. Develop editing skills necessary for recognizing and correcting writing problems. Use writing as a tool to enhance understanding and facilitate learning.
