This course is designed to introduce the student to workers compensation programs in North America with specific focus on Ontario's Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. Using the Act, the student will be able to define roles and responsibilities of all the participants in the program including the injured worker, workplace, employer, independent contractor, etc., In understanding workers compensation programs available in each geographic location of workplace, students will be able to develop and implement a program to process claims in compliance of relevant legislation and insurance carrier guidelines.
