This course explores various types of biomaterials, such as metallics, ceramics, polymerics, and composites as they relate to prosthetics. Students will be exposed to the material properties and basic structure of prosthetics, and the differences between them. For each prosthesis a history and future trend will be identified with a focus on future development and the impact the prosthesis has on human life.
