Backflow Prevention

This course is designed to train the plumber, pipe-fitter, or apprentice in the proper installation and testing procedures of required backflow prevention devices according to C.S.A. B 64-10 regulations and O.W.W.A. This course combines theoretical understanding of the operation, as well as hands-on testing and repair of the devices. Areas of Study: Legal Aspects and Codes, Causes of Backflow, Backflow Devices (Installation, Function, Application, Premise Location), Maintenance Procedures, Device Repair, Testing Procedures, Equipment Verification, Air Gap, Atmosphere Vacuum, Breaker, Double Check Valve, Assembly, Reduced Pressure Principle, and Backflow Preventer. Course 5 days, 40 hours. Fees listed include certification fees & manuals.

*Students require a hard hat, safety glasses and safety shoes for this course.
