The Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (PARE) is an occupational test designed to assess an individual's ability to perform the duties of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) or Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) officer. Successful completion of the PARE is a requirement for all RCMP and CBSA applicants. The PARE is divided into three sections: 1) The PARE Obstacle Course, 2) The Push/Pull Activity, and 3) The Weight Carry. Applicant standards for the PARE include completion of the PARE obstacle course and push/pull activity in 4 minutes and 45 seconds or less, with a 70 lbs. push/pull activity, and a successful weight carry of an 80 lbs. bag. Prior to performing the test, applicants must receive medical clearance from their physician. On testing day, participants must present the original PARE medical clearance document, signed by the physician, as well as a photocopy of the medical clearance document. Participants may not complete the test without presenting these documents to the PARE administrator. Participants must pre-register with full payment prior to attending the test. Admission will be granted based on availability.
