This course builds on the overview to the litigation process provided in PLG120 and provides students with an in-depth look at the litigation process. The adversarial nature of litigation is explored within the context of civil legal disputes. Relevant rules regarding processes and procedures are examined. The course provides a full review of the fundamental rules of evidence, including evidentiary burdens, admissibility, relevance and materiality, rules of hearsay evidence, common law and statutory exceptions. This course includes a guest lecture component wherein experienced litigators provide narratives and share experiences.
