This course will introduce students to algebra and trigonometry topics that are applied to technical vocations such a toolmaking, mouldmaking, and plastics. Topics include basic numeracy, simple algebraic equations, exponents, ratio and proportion, geometry and trigonometry. An emphasis will be on the use of problem solving skills to apply mathematical knowledge as well as blueprint reading knowledge to various prints in order to manufacture required parts in the metal cutting trades. A brief introduction to three dimensional calculations will also be encountered.
