A study of the role and ethical responsibilities of the Medical Laboratory Technologist, of accepted procedures for the safe handling of specimens, reagents and equipment, and of the theoretical principles and applications of various types of microscopy. Proper use and care of the light microscope and other selected manual skills will be practiced with an emphasis on safety and organization.This course will introduce students to histology by relation to the principles of anatomy and physiology, encompassing a theoretical and laboratory in depth study of the microanatomy of human tissues, organs, and systems. Students will continue to improve their microscopy and laboratory skills by this study.
