An introductory course designed to cover the basic concepts of biology, and to prepare the student for more advanced courses. Topics include biological chemistry, cell structure and function, basic physiology at the cellular level such as transport mechanisms, cell division, enzymes and metabolism, and basic concepts of molecular genetics and inheritance.
