One of the distinguishing characteristics of greenhouse cropping is that the supply of water and nutrients to plants can be so controlled, that an optimum crop production can be achieved. This course will allow the student to learn how to set up irrigation schedules, strategies, and nutritional programs to achieve an optimum crop production. Students will learn the functions of essential elements, how to identify plant nutrient deficiencies, and how to avoid these deficiencies, and their remediation. Students will also learn how to maximize the water and fertilizer efficiency, to minimize the environmental impact of greenhouse cropping.
