This course is a continuation of Introduction to Textiles. Students will examine fabric structure, textile dyeing and methods used in the print industry. They will design a motif and block print their original design onto fabric. Emphasis on the eco-friendly movement in the textile industry will be explored. Students will work in groups to deconstruct and redesign a garment using recycled clothing. Working with different textiles and identifying the characteristics of each textile. These designs will be displayed on the runway at the year end fashion show., The performance and care of textiles will be examined along with industry laws and regulations pertaining to labelling and care instructions
