This course will expose students to the physics concepts underlying cardiovascular technologies. Emphasis will be on ultrasound, Doppler, and other biomedical imaging and quantifying technologies. The student will also encounter the physics behind biosignals and noise, diagnostic cardiology, defibrillators and pacemakers. Bioeffects and limitations of these technologies will be discussed..
