This course will introduce the student to the role of a Border Services Officer as a crime scene investigator. Crime scene reconstruction is detailed using scientific and technological concepts. The student will be able to recognize criminal offences, evidence recognition, documentation, packaging, and storage procedures so that it is admissible in court. Scientific procedures and the latest technology in the field of forensics are explored. Legal, procedural and ethical considerations for crime scene management are discussed.
