St. Clair College has a longstanding reputation for producing highly skilled paramedics ready to 
serve in challenging environments. But students and faculty recognize that learning to be a paramedic is about more than the hard skills they learn in the classroom, it's also about soft skills like mentorship and supporting one another.

In a special badging ceremony hosted by The Windsor Police Service, seven recent graduates from St. Clair College became sworn officers in the City of Windsor and Town of Amherstburg.

It was a day to celebrate at St. Clair College Wednesday, marking the two-year anniversary of a massive investment by the College into the state-of-the-art Robotics Lab in the Ford Centre for Excellence in Manufacturing.

"We really wanted to get everyone together and celebrate the birthday of this amazing space that we have here," said John Byng, the Chair of the School of Engineering Technologies at St. Clair College. "We have a teaching lab that is second-to-none in robotics, we think, of any other college around."

Thanksgiving is typically a time to be with family and friends to enjoy good company and a warm meal, but not everyone is fortunate enough to have that experience.

That's why this year, Dave Mota and his sister, Helena Pereira are making a point of donating a fabulous Turkey dinner to those in need.

Mental health does not discriminate, and former NHL goaltender Corey Hirsch is living proof.

"There was a day, a time in my life where I couldn't see a tomorrow," Hirsch said during a recent stop at St. Clair College during his mental health advocacy tour. "I had to look up to see rock bottom."

Being a patient in a palliative care hospital setting typically signals end-of-life treatments, pain management and an uncertain future.

Because of that, visiting a loved one in palliative care is an emotional time, an experience Sofia Fowler experienced firsthand during her grandfather’s final months.

“There is no elevator to success: you have to take the stairs.”
