On February 16-17, 2024, the Community and Justice Services (CJS) students at St. Clair College took the lead in organizing the "Rough Night Out" event. The event was held in support of the Windsor Residence for Young Men, with the aim of raising awareness about youth homelessness in the community. The event was held at the main campus, and it proved to be extremely successful, raising $1,120 for the cause.
The event required the students to stay outdoors from 8 pm to 5 am to experience the hardships faced by those who are homeless. The students endured the cold weather, and their excitement soon turned into a humbling experience. They learned what it feels like to be homeless and the challenges that the homeless people face every day. This experience left the students with a stronger passion for helping the at-risk youth within their community.
The "Rough Night Out" event was an eye-opening experience for all those involved. It not only raised money for a good cause but also brought attention to a growing problem in the community. The success of the event is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the CJS students at St. Clair College.
