The John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham, Ontario, buzzed with excitement as over 550 early childhood educators (ECE) gathered for the Heartwork and So Much More professional development day. Organized by Kelly Emery and her team, this event aimed to empower ECE professionals, foster collaboration, and deepen their understanding of child development.
The day featured three all-day workshops, allowing registrants to choose their focus:
- Early Years Mental Health: Participants delved into strategies for supporting children's emotional well-being during their formative years.
- Self-Regulation and Belonging: Educators explored techniques to help children regulate their emotions and build a sense of belonging within their learning environments.
- The "C" Is for Cooks, but All Are Welcome!: This workshop celebrated the vital role of nutrition and mealtime experiences in early childhood settings.
Throughout the day, educators engaged in lively discussions, shared best practices, and gained fresh insights. The Heartwork PD Day served as a reminder that their work is not just about teaching - it's about nurturing young hearts and minds, one child at a time.
