The School of Community Studies is pleased to announce that the check for the Windsor/Essex Child and Youth Advocacy Center was officially presented to the executive members this afternoon. The funds were raised from the highly successful 3rd Annual Charity Golf Classic at Woodland Hills Golf Course in support of the Windsor-Essex Youth Advocacy Centre (WECYAC). Students, along with volunteers, worked with numerous business and community partners to organize this successful event and raised $4853.86 for the WECYAC.
The WECYAC provides a safe environment for children and youth who have suffered abuse and/or a traumatic event to start the healing process and work with a team of professionals so they only have to "tell their story once" rather than having to relive it multiple times in the investigative process. Money raised will go a long way in providing support to this precious segment of our community.
