Sarah Julius walked away with the title of top presenter in the rapid-fire session last weekend, at the WE-Spark Conference. Julius, along with another student and an adjunct researcher represented St. Clair College at the event, showcasing their innovative projects. The event, held at Caesars, drew participants from various post-secondary institutions in the Windsor Essex Area to innovate, discuss, inspire, and collaborate.

The two student representatives hailed from the Early Childhood Education and Social Justice and Legal Studies programs. Notably, both students secured spots among the top 10, earning the opportunity to engage in rapid-fire sessions, during which they competed in delivering verbal presentations of their projects.

Ultimately, the pinnacle of the achievement was Julius’ humanitarian project aimed at addressing food insecurity in Windsor-Essex County. In collaboration with the Ontario Student Nutrition Program and ProsperUs (United Way), she is actively engaged in making a meaningful impact on the community. This endeavour has received financial support through a grant secured from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

The WE-Spark Conference provided a platform for students to showcase their groundbreaking research, and the recognition received by Julius reflects the calibre of work being undertaken by St. Clair College students.
