It will be a full-circle moment for a pair of St. Clair College graduates when they exchange wedding vows at the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts this afternoon.
Mitchell Curtis, 29, said the first time he met his future wife Isabela was inside the Chrysler Theatre during their time as students at St. Clair’s downtown Windsor campus in 2014. Isabela Stilles, 29, had previously moved to Canada from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and was enrolled in the Musical Theatre Performance program while Curtis was busy studying Entertainment Technology.
The couple officially began dating in 2015 and started their respective careers in the entertainment industry soon upon completing their studies at St. Clair. After Stilles graduated, she quickly received an acting role in a local theatrical production of the musical Hair before ultimately moving to Toronto in 2016 to pursue more performance opportunities and further her education. A few months later Curtis joined Stilles in the GTA as he began a four-year stint as a technologist at the Harbourfront Centre Theatre - a prominent multiuse venue located on the waterfront of Lake Ontario.
Once Curtis popped the question in August 2020, the engaged couple had their initial wedding date pushed back due to restrictions on international travel but quickly settled on a new date of April 8, 2022. The couple currently live in Kitchener but chose to host their wedding in Windsor to be closer to family and friends, so Stilles suggested they exchange their vows in the same venue where they met - Chrysler Theatre at the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts
"I feel like it’s the perfect place for us to get married. I remember our first few dates when we were first meeting each other and getting to know each other, it was all at Chrysler Theatre," Stilles said. "It's really a full-circle moment. I have six bridesmaids and four of them are from St. Clair. My closest friends are from St. Clair College still to this day and I had a really good experience at the school."
The ceremony for the Curtis-Stilles Wedding will take place inside Chrysler Theatre at 5 pm on April 8th, 2022 with dinner and reception set to follow across the hallway at the Centre for the Arts.
