St. Clair College raised the purple flag Monday, in recognition of two campaigns by Hiatus House to raise awareness about woman abuse.

November is Woman Abuse Prevention Month throughout Ontario. Hiatus House is hosting the Shine the Light™ on Woman Abuse and Wrapped in Courage campaigns in Windsor-Essex to highlight the issue of woman abuse and its impact on all of us.

The goal of the Shine the Light™ on Woman Abuse campaign is to show women who are experiencing abuse that the community supports them and believes that everyone has a right to a life free from violence.

This year Wear Purple Day was on Monday, Nov. 15. Hiatus House encouraged everyone in Windsor/Essex to wear purple to show support for abused women and girls.
