This practical based course will introduce the fundamental principles and processes of arc welding and cutting including an explanation of power units and their controls, definition of electrode characteristics and coding. This course will outline procedure variables and their effects on the weld deposit and involve practice with oxy-fuel cutting/welding equipment. Other weld related subjects such as heat treating, stress relieving and metallurgy will also be discussed in depth.
