PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) is a cross-platform scripting language that is particularly well-suited for web development. The Introduction to PHP and MySQL course starts by introducing students to the fundamentals of the PHP language, while writing basic PHP programs. This course focuses on PHP use in conjunction with the MySQL database. During the first half of the course, focus is placed on language syntax and data structures, flow control routines, built-in functions, and best practices. During the second half of the course students will be introduced to MySQL and database integration. This course will prepare students for the more advanced course Developing Web Applications with PHP (WEB451).
