Canada and the Politics of the 21st Century is a course designed to provide students with general knowledge of Canada's place within the international order which they will use to determine their own roles in society. For example, globalization creates economic winners and losers, inciting new security threats and reviving old political struggles, while also spawning new forms of communication and international cooperation. Students will sort through information, particularly information filtered through the media, and interpret the jargon of politicians, bureaucrats and journalists in order to relate complex global linkages to their own personal and public relationships.
