The course introduces the student to the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Emphasis is placed on the development of both a systemic and regional perspective of anatomical structures and physiological processes. Students apply knowledge of structures and functions of all major body systems and understand the relationships of all structures within a given region. Topics include: body organization, cell structure and functions, tissue classifications, the integumentary system, the skeletal system, the muscular system, the respiratory system, the digestive system, the urinary system, the reproductive system, the cardiovascular system, the blood and lymphatic system, the nervous and sensory systems, the endocrine system and the immune system.
