The course will introduce the student to the principles, issues, and techniques for providing patient care. Course work includes information concerning legal issues affecting the patient, such as the treatment of medical records, the Patient's Bill of Rights, as well as issues concerning the clinical environment such as Infection control. Modalities for maintaining professional competency will be discussed. Clinical skills practice will include aseptic technique, and measurement of basic vital signs.
