This course will assist refreshing Registered Nurses to prepare for their nursing practice in caring for pediatric, adult and aging clients. Through theoretical review and various simulated scenarios, students will demonstrate problem solving, critical thinking, therapeutic communication, and cultural sensitivity in the safe care of clients across the lifespan. Students will complete assessments and collaboratively plan care of clients experiencing complex multisystem health disruptions using the nursing process. Synthesis of pharmacology, theory, research and professional practice standards will facilitate the reacquisition of entry-to-practice nursing competencies. Students will demonstrate accountability, leadership, professional and ethical conduct as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
