Medical Research Application

Students will apply principles of research and will have the opportunity to finalize a comprehensive case study of a respiratory therapy patient, gathering information from a variety of sources to include patient health record, medical articles, and research studies. Students will be expected to facilitate a presentation of the selected patient that provides a case review of patient pathophysiology, treatment plan, patient response to treatment and patient outcome. Evaluation of published research related to the patient case with an overview of the treatment plan in comparison to researched best practice with conclusions is an essential element of the presentation.
