Professional Communication For Respiratory Therapists

This course addresses professional communication as it applies to Respiratory Therapy. Topics include the appropriate use of medical terminology and abbreviations commonly used in respiratory care, various forms of medical documentation, record keeping, technical report writing, professional consultations, shift reporting, interpersonal conflict resolution and the receiving and transcribing of verbal orders. Students explore the concepts of changes in healthcare, time management, prioritization and the development of critical thinking skills.
