Clinical Practicum I

This is the students' first introduction to a hospital setting. Students will be provided with an opportunity to observe and relate fundamental didactic knowledge with clinical application. When opportunity arises it may be appropriate for the student to perform very basic respiratory skills previously practiced in the laboratory setting. The focus of this rotation is to increase the students' awareness of the role of a Respiratory Therapist and observe the clinical performance and application of theoretical and practical knowledge by practicing health care providers. Emphasis will also be placed on professional interactions with patients and members of the health care team.
