Students evaluate the interactions and operating principles of various aspects of ventilators such as: triggering, cycling, ventilation modes, and alarms. Time is spent understanding the principles of operation and classification for each ventilator. Students perform circuit assembly, operational checks, and troubleshooting on each ventilator. In a simulated setting, students apply the basic principles of the interaction of ventilators with patients.
