Students gain practical experience involving the use of medical gases and their delivery systems. This includes flowmeters, regulators, cylinders, bulk gas storage, gas outlets, the use of oxygen analyzers, and troubleshooting. Safety rules and regulations pertaining to medical gas use and delivery are reviewed, incorporating WHMIS. The technical aspects of humidity, aerosol and oxygen therapy delivery systems are covered. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is utilized in simulated practice.
