An advanced study of feedwater treatment as it relates to power plants. The course will build on the knowledge related to external and internal feedwater and boiler water treatment methods, equipment, monitoring, sampling and testing. Other topics include cooling water treatment, potable water treatment, testing, and relevant legislation. Application of relevant chemistry concepts and nomenclature will be incorporated in order to explain the principle of operation of different water treatment technologies and testing methods. Theoretical concepts will be reinforced through practical experience in the boiler room.
