Designed for students to study the design, operation and maintenance of industrial steam generators and controls. The classifications of boilers and steam generators, required fittings to ensure safe and efficient operation will be discussed. Students will examine the purpose, location, design and operating conditions of major heat transfer components of a boiler or steam generator. Other topics include burner and furnace designs and associated draft equipment, air pollution control devices and testing methods.
